Wired....there are so many ways in which teens are "wired" these days. Teens are constantly connected to the world around them through many different kinds of media. From cell phones to social networking sites to portable media players, teens are always attached to the world. They can’t seem to escape. At 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” We want our youth to set the example for their peers through the way that they live their lives. We encourage them to not act differently while they are at youth group….we want their entire lives to be centered around Christ, not just when they walk through the doors at Mt. Olive. Who is the Youth Group for? “Wired”, is intended for youth from grades 6-12 and also the first couple years in college. Special Events:
In the winter we break away from the mundane with a ski trip, generally around New Years! During the day we will hit the slopes and at night we gather together at a local hotel and eat, watch movies, swim, and enjoy being together as a group! A message from Josh Catour, Youth Director: “My goal is to lead kids to live a life for Christ, no matter the age, I want the kids to realize that just because you are young doesn't mean you can’t live for Jesus, It’s not just for adults. I also want to prepare the kids for adulthood. My goal is to help and support the kids in any issue that may have, spiritual or otherwise while they are in the YG and beyond.”
